ERIK MORNINGSTAR

Erik Morningstar is a Starfleet Captain and current commanding officer of the USS Anubis. A descendant of the Okanagan/Syilx First Nations tribe, Captain Morningstar has had a successful Starfleet career for the past twenty-five years.

Born in the city of Vancouver on Earth in 2385 to a family who practiced many of the ancient traditions of their people, Erik Morningstar's first choice of career was as a private contractor. When this venture failed, he joined Starfleet against the wishes of his traditionalist father, graduating from the Academy in 2411.

Over the next eighteen years he was shuttled around to many duty stations, making his name as an effective engineer and Operations officer, notably during a five-year stint on the USS Avalon, during which he served as the ship's Executive Officer. His tour of the Avalon made his career, being awarded the Starfleet Cross, the Bronze Starburst, and a Commendation Pin.

In 2429 he was promoted to the rank of Captain, and his first command was the Scarab-class USS Anubis, operating out of New Alexandria as part of Admiral Charles Koniki's highly-secret intelligence task force.

Today, Erik Morningstar remains the Anubis' CO, loyal and dedicated to the ideals of the Federation, striving to be fair and even-handed in all his dealings. He maintains a keen interest in the ancient traditions of his people, and keeps up his knowledge of wilderness survival and unarmed combat.
