LOCATION: USS PHOENIX
SD [2.16] 1229.0815
SCENE: Deck 3, Room 7

Very much like Lynette the greater majority of Sofia's belongings could still be found buried in her luggage, neither Ensigns having had the time to unpack since their arrival on board the USS PHOENIX. As the blonde haired woman started to lay down the full extent of her clothing selection, which counted less than a dozen total items, she came to further realize why she had decided to head to Sickbay right away upon her arrival instead of unpacking.

How could she have expected things to be different than what they were? She had been brought before a review board, stripped of her rank of Ensign, sent to a detention facility before being assigned to help with the cleanup on Paris. The person that she had been no longer existed, in her stead was a young and naive woman who had been plucked from the hellish life that she had inadvertently found herself rapidly slipping into. If it had not been for all of the help she had received, no matter what her intentions and desires might have been, the detention center or one very much like it would have been her home for the rest of her life. As such, what possible need would she have had for any sort of nice casual clothes?

The words of Captain Kane spoken to her while he had been in Sickbay found their way back into her mind. Sofia was once again reminded of her past and how many members of the crew would come on board with preset conceptions about their aCMO based on the simple fact that she had been a registered participant of the Neo-Essentialist organization. Even if she had been in possession of a clothing selection beyond the sad extent of what she had been staring at, the scars left by her association with the Neo-Essentialists would forever remain.

"Problems?" the aCEO inquired having noticed her roommate's lack of any signs of life as she looked down at whatever had been set on the bed.

"I think it may be best if I stayed here instead," Sofia stated, her voice filled with sadness that she did her best to hide. Sooner or later the two roommates would have a long talk about their past, but for the moment the woman with the blonde hair thought it best if such a conversation happened at a much later date.

"Let me guess," Lynette said as she bounced into the room, a quick glance onto the items neatly placed on the bed having made the aCEO believe she understood the problem at hand. "Nothing to wear? With all of the rushing to and from that everyone is doing I am sure that you are not the first or last person on board with that problem. Come with me. Let's see if there is something that I can lend you for tonight."

"Thank you but I should just stay here," Sofia quietly argued, trying to politely pull her wrist free of her roommate's playful yet determined hold.

"Nonsense," Lynette countered as she reached for Sofia's other wrist. "You are this ship's Assistant Chief Medical Officer, you cannot afford to be shy."

Stunned by this latest display of friendship and desire to help, the blonde woman wondered what unseen power in the universe had decided to make her the target of so much kindness, especially from people she had never before interacted with. Dragged by her wrists Sofia actually found herself smiling for a few seconds as she surrendered her fate and will to Lynette who appeared more than bent on seeing the two of them reach their destination.

"Here," Lynette said as she let go of only one wrists in order to reach into the duffle bag and fetch a shirt which was unceremoniously tossed to Sofia. "These should fit you," the 22-years old woman added having let go of the other wrist, her roommate having stopped fighting her at that point. "It's the best that I can offer you at this time, so we will have to make a point to set some common time aside for a good old girls' shopping trip. In the meantime, get dressed and let's go."

Caught in the whirlwind created by her roommate, Sofia found herself unable to do anything but whatshe had been told, and truth be told she had not been all that upset about it, not upset at all.
