Personality & Traits

General Overview Gabriella is a no-nonsense kind of person, comes straight to the point and doesn't waste words. She's always enthusiastic about her inventions or when explaining the ins and outs of how a new piece of equipment works.
Strengths & Weaknesses She's very smart, far more than most people give her credit for, and despite her enthusiasm, is deadly serious about the design and construction processes of her equipment.

Many people don't give her the respect she thinks she deserves, which occasionally frustrates her and is a good way to get under her skin.
Ambitions Gabriella wants to make a name for herself, even in the anonymous world of Section 31. She would love her name to be a by-word for a piece of equipment that is both perfectly ergonomic and always works.
Hobbies & Interests When she can get time off, which is not often, Gabriella likes to watch shuttle racing and keeps up with the personal shuttle industry. She also has three cats (Trouble, Chaos, and Disaster), which are usually found hanging around her design laboratory.

Personal History Gabriella Gonzalez was born in Barcelona in 2395 and showed an aptitude for using her hands from an early age. More than that, she quickly grasped the fundamentals of mathematics and basic engineering - some say she inherited the love of machines from her father, who raised her following her mother's death when she was a child.

Rather than remain in civilian life, Gabriella decided to enlist in Starfleet when she was old enough, eschewing the path of an officer in favour of getting right into the action. Unfortunately for her and her dreams of starships, Starfleet Engineering recognised her potential as a designer and assigned her to their R+D department.

It didn't take. Gabriella was too restless to stick with the laborious process of research, design and development of new systems, and was disciplined several times for going 'off-topic' and attempting to integrate or alter the goals of the projects she was working on. She spent sixteen years in various design labs, wishing she could do more, feeling stifled and stultified by the limitations of her work.

During the Neo-Essentialist rule of Earth, she found herself involved in weapons design projects. She excelled at these until an explosive she was working on was incorrectly stored away and exploded, demolishing the lab and putting two people in hospital.

With her career hanging in the balance, she was approached by Selyara, the Director of the newly-reconstructed Section 31, who offered her the chance to become to clandestine organisation's Quartermaster, responsible for the research, design, and construction of all manner of weapons, transportation, and gadgets to assist field agents. She jumped at the chance and has remained in the position ever since.
