STARFLEET UNIFORM

The STARFLEET OFFICER'S DUTY UNIFORM of the 25th century has recently (2432) undergone a redesign. Gone are overtly bright colours - now, black is the predominant colour, with a gray shoulder band. A coloured bar across the chest denotes which department the officer works in - this colour is also replicated in the undershirt worn next to the skin. Another main difference is the addition of a belt across all uniforms - this allows important equipment, such as tricorders or hand phasers, to be clipped close to the body and frees up the hands.

RED is for Command and Security/Tactical officers. SecTac used to wear gold, but this department's colour was changed to red in mid-2432.

COMMAND / SECTAC DUTY UNIFORM

TEAL indicates the Medical department. Medical officers also have an optional white-gray uniform they can wear on duty if they choose. This gray-white colour is occasionally worn on duty by Chief Medical Officers, and is a throwback design to the era when physicians wore white.

CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER'S OPTIONAL VARIANT UNIFORM

Once the colour of command officers, GOLD is now the general colour of a ship's officer complement, consisting of Engineering, Flight Control, and Operations departments.

ENGINEERING / FLIGHT CONTROL / OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT DUTY UNIFORM

BLUE is the colour of the Science Department. It is a darker colour than the Medical teal.

SCIENCE OFFICER'S DUTY UNIFORM

Marine officers wear a GREEN-banded uniform, seen here with an optional combat harness.

MARINE OFFICER'S DUTY UNIFORM

The colour of Intelligence officers has also changed. Until recently they wore black-collared uniforms, but now the colour of Intelligence is GRAY.

Among the enlisted ranks, many will wear variants of the existing officer's uniform. However, many Crewman can be wearing gold-coloured overalls as they go about their work.

ENLISTED CREW OVERALLS

The uniforms of flag officers have also been redesigned, now being predominantly black with a red-and-gold chest bar. Note also the belt with Starfleet insignia buckle.

FLAG OFFICER'S DUTY UNIFORM

Starfleet has also redesigned the dress uniform. This uniform is only worn on special or formal occasions. It consists of a gray-coloured uniform with white shoulder band, complete with coloured chest bar as on the regular duty uniform. This uniform also comes with a waist belt, and is a standardised design.
