USS PROPHECY (NCC-41599)

The USS PROPHECY, NX-41599, was a Prophecy-class Trans-Dimensional starship and the first ever Starfleet vessel to bear the name, in service for eight years between 2414-2422.

Following the disastrous First Contact with the Locusta Regime in 2412, the Federation immediately began research and reverse-engineering of Locusta trans-dimensional technology. Two years later, Starfleet Engineering completed the design and construction of the first ever Dimensional Drive - a technology that used phase harmonics to permit crossing between parallel universes. The USS PROPHECY was built as a test bed for this incredible new technology, and no other starships of her class were ever constructed. Along with the D-Drive, the Prophecy was equipped with a bio-neural hull that incorporated the latest advancements in kinetic dispersion technology.

Launched in 2414 under the command of Captain James Denneson, the Prophecy began the cataloging and exploration of the multiverse. All of her missions were classified as top secret, as Starfleet Intelligence believed that no other Alpha Quadrant power was in possession of this technology.

Captain Erik Morningstar took over in 2416, and the Prophecy was reassigned to Gateway station as her base. With the D-Drive technology needing to be upgraded regularly, much of the ship's time was taken up with shakedown cruises and experimental work.

Captain Anaqueen Spankryz became the ship's commander in late 2417, and would remain in that position for almost three years. During her tenure, the threat from the Locusta Regime lessened so much that the Prophecy was able to be temporarily assigned to intelligence and scientific missions.

In 2420, Captain Mad'rhon Zanders took the centre seat. With the Locusta threat now almost gone, the Prophecy went back to being a starship of many trades. Unfortunately, while on a classified dimensional-crossing mission in 2422, the ship crash-landed onto a planet while under attack from outside forces. In order to protect the D-Drive technology, the ship was about to be scuttled, but the USS Prophecy herself was lost when she was pulled into a dimensional distortion field.
