PSIONIC ARTIFACTS

Although still not understood by science, there exist various artifacts that are reputed to enhance existing powers of the mind. The Saltahna energy spheres, for example, are able to merge with the personalities of sentient humanoids. The Stone of Gol, a Vulcan artifact, is supposed to function as a psionic resonator, amplifying telepathic energy.

It is unknown if these artifacts are truly capable of doing what they are rumoured to do. It may that they act as some sort of placebo, giving the user enough faith in their own abilities to accomplish something beyond their normal limits. It may be that they are somehow able to manipulate the so-called 'psionic field' in a way that is scientifically unquantifiable. Whatever the truth, the stories are enough to keep many of them away from public eyes and into classified storage.
