Nikitin’s head jerked up as if roused from some deep sleep, watching as every monitor in the food court began playing yet another speech by Admiral Richard Edgerton. The sounds of Edgerton’s voice echoed through out the empty, tile clad space, as only a few passing Marine patrols stopped to watch and cheer at the new leadership. It was not the first time he longed for things to be like they used to be. Sighing and shaking his head, Alek reached down to take a sip from his soup, only to find it mysteriously gone and the unmistakable shimmering color of an energized transporter beam surrounding him. Blinking his eyes and looking around he took a deep swallow before heading against his will to what he thought would be his last moments alive.

A few seconds later, the bowl of soup rematerialized in midair and clattered on the floor, followed by the somewhat cowering form of the beleaguered newsman. He saw the spilled, wasted soup and frowned, until he realized he was still alive, surrounded by the familiar appearance of a Federation transporter room. “Ah, Mr. Nikitin, glad you could join us.”

He turned to face Marie-Claire Martine. She was smiling at him, and his eyes widened in surprise. He assumed she had perished in the attack on the Federation Council. “How?”

Martine stepped forward. All in due time. “I would like you to meet Asta and Lysander Elgin, and their guardian Sephian O’Keefe...” MC stated, escorting him off the pad and beginning to explain the situation to him, as well as those she introduced, as they set course for the Starbase, then their next destination, a hidden base called Elandipole.

There was a thunderous sound erupting from the very inner corridors of the marine headquarters as veteran and retired marines took up arms against their younger counter parts who demanded they side with Edgerton. As accusations of treachery were thrown a shot was fired somewhere sending the two sides into complete disarray. As ground forces did their best to quelch the advancement of the under trained and over zealous young Marines and their commanding officers in the distance sounds of buildings collapsing could be heard as starships long past their prime began lifting into the air.

It was with horror and almost nostalgic glee that many of the young men stopped to watch as these ships of old lifted under their own power. It was not mere coincidence that the ships of the past were bearing teeth yet again, nor that they were quickly taking into their hulls all the marines that were against Edgerton via transporter beams. Mav had made use of the warnings of Sardak and prepared, just in case. There was one last thing that the group had to do and, do it quickly, as their transporter rooms filled with the remaining bodies from Camp Eureka only to jump to warp at the soonest possible instant. With phaser fire erupting from starships trying to leave drydock in an effort to contain the aged fleet. Each vessel disappeared only leaving their attackers behind to try and rationalize the events and their attacks. There were no coordinates given to this small and aged fleet only a warp trail to follow desperately trying to stay behind Secretary Sardak and the DEMETRE.
