General Overview		Admiral Dano is currently midway through the Phase, a physiological change in female Betazoids, during which their sex drives increase fourfold. The Phase has changed her general personality. Nowadays, there is a suggestive twinkle about Admiral Dano at all times, making her a very attractive woman to be around - she could almost be described as alluring or teasing, except that she's always careful never to cross that line. She can be flirtatious, especially with younger male colleagues (and rumour has it that she is occasionally more than flirtatious), but always reins in her behaviour around authority figures. Some people find her behaviour discomfiting, especially when coupled with the fact that she is a full Betazoid, able to read minds at will. However, Miranna is generally very aware of the sensitivities of those around her, and like all Betazoids, doesn't make a habit of invading the thoughts of other.
Strengths & Weaknesses		Admiral Dano is a gifted doctor, and has always had a light and airy bedside manner, capable of putting even nervous patients at their ease. She is able to inspire confidence even in patients who are very ill. She is also a born organiser. All of her commanders throughout her career remarked on her attention to detail without being nitpicky. It is a trait that has served her well as she rose through the ranks. However, the Phase is causing somewhat erratic behaviour in her personal life. After divorcing her husband, a noted cardiologist, she has embarked a number of potentially scandalous flings with much younger men. While this would not be a problem if she was a civilian or of a lower rank, there are some in Starfleet Command who tut-tut her off-duty behaviour, seeing it as unbecoming to someone in her position.

Personal History		Miranna Dano graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2395, finishing second in her graduating class and qualifying as both a medical doctor and a surgeon ahead of expectations. She went straight to work, serving for 13 years on various starships before moving on to Starbases and their higher populations. On her first Starbase duty station - Starbase 78 - she had a whirlwind romance with a Human civilian cardiologist named Andrew Webber. They married there, but short months into the marriage, Andrew Webber accepted a residency at a famous hospital on Earth. They both attempted to keep the relationship alive by regular contact and vacationing with one another. In 2411 she was assigned to Starbase 44 as Chief Medical Officer. The Kem D'Neel attacked and slaughtered the Malara II colony in the next sector, and Starbase 44 became a triage centre. Miranna worked tirelessly to ease the suffering of the thousands of injured, winning much unlooked-for praise. After 20 years of service in the fleet, Miranna was sent to Starfleet Academy as an instructor, reuniting with her husband on Earth, but, although the time apart had changed their feelings for one another, they stayed together. She had developed an excellent reputation as an administrator as well as for her medical skills, and when the position of Chief Medical Officer for the Academy suddenly opened up, she jumped at the chance. She served for 4 years as the Academy's doctor and loved every minute of it. With her success at the Academy, Miranna moved into the higher ranks of command, moving to Starfleet Medical and then to Starfleet Command as its Deputy Head. She was the Head of Starfleet Medical's PR department for the duration of the Second Dominion War, and had almost-daily contact with the media, standing alongside senior officers from Starfleet Command in regular press conferences. In 2429, she entered the Phase and became a changed woman. She decided to end the charade, as she saw it, of her marriage. She divorced her shocked husband and began to experiment with her sexuality, keeping her liaisons discreet. As the Federation entered the Neo-Essentialist crisis, Miranna remained on in her position at Starfleet Command, one of the few non-Humans to do so, drawing rumours of why she was enjoying the favour of the regime. In 2431, following the downfall of the Neo-Essentialists and the reshuffle of Starfleet Command, Miranna was elevated to the Admiralty and became the head of her department.
